The Silence Is Speaking

The Silence Is Speaking

When the white noise is gone, you can hear. I mean – you can really hear. Many times what you hear is nothing but complete silence and it can be pretty challenging. However, the silence is speaking and if you really want to know the truth about yourself – and the truth means no harm – there is no other way to get it but through quieting the noise in your life. The truth only wants to set you free. From the day I started riding my bike from Las Vegas to Washington, DC, I have not listened to my favorite music channels on Pandora or any station. As I pump my legs covering on average 30 miles per day, I’m listening to the wind and waiting for God’s still small voice to speak to me. While in Lake Havasu City, AZ in my tent preparing to leave this morning, I did listen to a little music. I immediately missed the silence. I have not watched the news or read any “Breaking News” editorials at length until tonight by watching Tucker Carson for about 30 minutes. In fact, I unsubscribed from practically all my “YouTube” Channels that provided daily updates on all that is going on. As soon as I see or read something about what’s happening, it interferes with what I’ve been hearing lately – silence.   The noise creates  a void That paralyzes my knowing     The noise knows nothing of me Is never speaking to me Is only using my soul, my spirit, my mind To transmit its message to others around me I remain...
From Greatness to Irrelevance

From Greatness to Irrelevance

King Saul was chosen by the prophet Samuel at the request of the people who wanted a king to rule over them like other nations. It was their way of not wanting to deal with God directly. The choice proved to be devastating. Eventually, Saul imploded upon himself (and eventually upon his own sword) and left the nation of Israel in ruins. He would have been established as King over Israel forever had he not disobeyed God in breaking His commandment. 11 And Samuel said, “What hast thou done?” And Saul said, “Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that thou camest not within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered themselves together at Michmash, 12 therefore said I, ‘The Philistines will come down now upon me to Gilgal, and I have not made supplication unto the Lord.’ I forced myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering.” 13 And Samuel said to Saul, “Thou hast done foolishly. Thou hast not kept the commandment of the Lord thy God which He commanded thee, for now would the Lord have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever.  1 Samuel 13:11-13 This is the pattern that is followed when one is headed from great to irrelevant. We do so when all that matters is how “we” feel about what “others” think. Saul’s entire identity was woven into the fabric of the people he was anointed to lead according to God’s directives. However, he was always concerned about what the people wanted and demanded of him. He was never capable of fully obeying God. This is why time and time again, he disobeyed a direct...
I know whence I came, and whither I go…

I know whence I came, and whither I go…

Do you know from where you have come from? Do you know where you are going? The mindset of most people in the world today is limited to a mere history of their ancestors or their “natural” man. We have limited ourselves to levels of deprivation based on the pitiful view of our biological nature and history.  If we are to experience a bold and meaningful life that can embrace GREATNESS, we will have to overcome insurmountable obstacles because of the faults of others. It’s actually impossible to do so. We also bask in a false glory in thinking that we are ‘someone’ because they where ‘someone’ or we are ‘no one’ because they where a ‘no one’.  After all how will we really ever know the truth? We will do well by allowing Jesus to be our standard and our advocate. Jesus associated his purpose from above. Jesus answered, “Even if I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is valid, for I know where I came from and where I am going. But you have no idea where I come from or where I am going.  John 8:14 Imagine the power of “knowing where you came from”? This immediately allows you to never be controlled by the narrative of the past. So where did you come from – no from through? Who where you made by? Why where you created? Where do your ideas come from? What inspires you? What do you dream about doing? How do you dance? How do you talk? What makes you laugh? These questions can only be answered by your CREATOR! It is then you will...
The Enemy of Great

The Enemy of Great

There is nothing like a good idea. They download within our minds everyday demanding us to activate them. These ideas promise us money, fame and especially the feeding of our ego’s which cause us to soar into the atmosphere above with emotions that create a sensation of bliss. WAKE UP! Ideas must be filtered through your core purpose in order to know if such an idea has relevance. In fact, aside from yourself, people will bring ideas to you as well and unless you have disciplined yourself to remain steadfast upon your core purpose which is the central DNA of what makes you great, you will be pulled and lured into doing good ideas and therefore never achieve the greatness of who God made you to be.  Jesus knew He was sent for ONE thing.  What’s yours? Grab those ideas by their necks, look them in their eyes and look at the core DNA of your greatness. If you don’t see it in that idea, cast it to the side and keep your stride moving towards the prize of the high calling of God which is in Christ Jesus. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.                                 Proverbs 3:5-6 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of Godin Christ Jesus.   Philippians 3:14 Share this:FacebookLinkedInTwitterTumblrLike this:Like...
