I’m well within second day of the Shift to Greatness Bike Trek. The question people are asking me now is ‘Why are you doing this?’ It’s a good question. In fact, I’ve been asking God the same question.

My first self cook meal. Tried to make it to searchlight NV. Too far and I need food. You do what’s necessary to Shift to Greatness. Headed to DC on my bike!

This morning without thinking I said to myself ‘I don’t want to live, I want to die.’ I know how that sounds, but what I meant was that I don’t want to live to me, I want to die to Christ so that I can really live. I guess I really understood what the Apostle Paul was getting at in Philippians when he said ‘For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.’

After scratching up my chin in the dark last night falling off my bike (thank God it was on soft sand), breaking my kickstand, and with the stars looking down upon me the thought ‘What am I doing?’ crossed my mind. I’ll admit I kind of heard God chuckling behind the veil of darkness. However, I’m assured of His pleasure in my faith.

Ask yourself a question, ‘What is your passion?’ So what. You have a ticket to heaven. That’s awesome!. The important question is what will you have when you get there? Don’t forget that our works will be tried in the fire. Maybe your passion is not to ride your bike from Vegas to DC or to write poetry, but you do have one. What I can promise you is that it is not normal and it must have adventure. I’m provoking you to find your passion and do whatever you have to do to Shift to Greatness.
